NEVADA STATE COLLEGE SCIENCE & EDUCATION BLD.
The new three-story 60,000 SF Nursing Building is the second building to be constructed on the 500-acre campus of the Nevada State College. The project was building permit ready with 100% construction documents and was fully funded until the State Legislature revoked the funding in July of 2009 due to the economic decline. The new Nursing Building is primarily a teaching facility consisting of a 100-person lecture hall, classrooms, computer & media rooms, multi-purpose rooms, breakout areas, a student study center, gross anatomy and general laboratories, faculty offices, a faculty lounge and administrative offices for the College President, Vice President and staff. Designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification from the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC), our team worked very closely with the Nevada State Public Works Board to establish the minimum LEED requirements for all buildings in Nevada that receive State funding. Construction was completed in the summer of 2015.
Dwayne R. Eshenbaugh, AIA completed this project while an Associate with Dekker/ Perich/ Sabatini. Dwayne’s role was Project Manager and Design Architect.
